Lehigh Valley Family Dines with Bennett, Dent Before They Decide PDF Print E-mail

Who Will Get Their Vote?

ALLENTOWN – Before deciding how they’ll vote, a “bipartisan” family sat down for dinner with each candidate running to represent the Lehigh Valley in Congress.  PBS 39 helped Kevin, a Republican, and his wife Krista, a Democrat, arrange two dinners recently with Republican Charles Dent and then with Democrat Sam Bennett just this past Friday.  Kevin and Krista will announce their pick when the show airs.

“I wish I could sit down with every family over dinner and talk about the issues,” said Bennett.  “Krista and Kevin’s family share some of the same concerns as many hardworking families I’ve met on the campaign trail.  They asked about important issues like education, the economy, energy, Iraq, and health care.  I'd be honored to earn their vote.”

Kevin and Krista’s family live in Schnecksville.  Together they have three kids – Kelsey, 6, Carter, 4, and Eleanor, 2.   Krista is a medical education professor and her husband Kevin is a family physician.  So far this election, Krista voted in the Democratic primary while Kevin voted in the Republican primary.  Now, they’ll both have to decide which candidate will get their vote on November 4th.

PBS 39 taped the two dinners for their Pasta and Politics special.  The special is scheduled to air along with a joint candidate forum on Thursday, October 30th at 7:30 pm on PBS 39.

Tune in, watch the dinner and the forum, and find out which candidate won Kevin and Krista’s votes!
