A Responsible Plan
to End the War in Iraq
Co-Presented to the American People
by Sam Bennett.

"I want to bring our troops home, to the hero’s welcome and lifelong support they have earned." - Sam Bennett

There is a path to peace.

For too long, the Bush Republicans have said that we face only two choices in Iraq: keep a force of more than 100,000 troops there, or pull out suddenly and leave the country in chaos.  This is dead wrong.

In this report that I have co-sponsored, “A Responsible Plan to End the War in Iraq,” I and a group of other Congressional candidates have put together a group of proposals that harness the full range of foreign-policy tools at our disposal: diplomacy, reconstruction, bringing together coalition partners from the region … all the options that the Bush White House refuses to use.

We put this forward in order to prove to the American public that with creativity and vision, Congress can use these tools to heal Iraq and bring our troops home to the hero's welcome they deserve.

One of the reasons that I am challenging Congressman Dent for his seat is that he has voted to support Bush’s war 100 percent of the time – voting over and over again to fund a war that is not working, that is endangering our own national security and bankrupting our government – including the dishonorable treatment shown to veterans.

Read the report – tell your friends about it – and have hope. There is a path to peace; we simply need leaders that are brave enough to walk it.
